The LUTC (LU technology committee) is reviewing a specific laptop and desktop policy for faculty and staff to create a standard system for the entire campus. The goal of a standard system is to provide everyone with a computer model that has been tested and proven dependable. A standard system also reduces setup and maintenance times for OIT because there is an established image (hardware configuration and software package) and experience supporting the model.

Although we strongly encourage standardization, we understand the possibility that this standard will not accommodate everyone's needs. If you want to deviate from the standard, just submit the system you want and the justification to the help desk and your request will be submitted to the University for approval.
