Meningitis Policy

In accordance with Missouri Revised Statutes, Chapter 174, State Colleges and Universities, Section 174.335, Lincoln University requires all students who reside in on-campus housing must present documentation of current meningococcal vaccination or sign a written waiver stating that the institution of higher education has provided the student, or if the student is a minor, the student's parents or guardian, with detailed written information on the risks associated with meningococcal disease and the availability and effectiveness of the meningococcal vaccine, beginning with the 2004 - 2005 school year.

The Student Health Center will maintain records on the meningococcal vaccination status of every student residing in on-campus housing at the University, including any written waivers.
Lincoln University can and will administer the vaccination after the student has paid the Student Account's office the price of the meningitis vaccination.
If you require further assistance, please contact the Student Health Center at (573) 681-5476, studenthealth@lincolnu.edu, or come to our office in the Thompkins Center.
To help you to make an informed decision about receiving the vaccine, please read the information at the following website: Centers for Disease Control (CDC) www.cdc.gov/nip/publication/VIS/vis-mining.pdf
