| Description: | This position is a Tenure track appointment with emphasis in developmental English or first-year writing. The Faculty in this department are generally assigned a 4/4 teaching load. Other duties include service on departmental and university committee, student advising, and other university service as requested. Position deadline is February 20,2009.

| Qualifications: | Ph.D. or advanced ABD in English, rhetoric and composition or closely related field (Ph.D. required by date of hire). Secondary specialization in developmental writing, applied linguistics, or professional and technical communication is preferred. Also preferred: demonstrated commitment to research, innovative teaching and departmental/University service in first-year writing and developmental English. Other preferred qualifications include experience working with diverse student populations and an interest in basic writing pedagogy. |
