NCAA Div II National Outdoor Championships

Sixteen Lincoln Blue Tigers qualified to take their shot at the NCAA Division II Men’s and Women's outdoor Track & Field titles this week in Walnut, California. The Blue Tiger women attempted to make this year their 6th championship in a row. Unfortunately, Abilene Christian University stormed both men’s and women’s events this year with a total of 76.50 points for the women and 108.50 points for the men. The Blue Tiger Women took 3rd place with 54 points, missing 2nd place by only one point which went to Adams State with 55 points. The Blue Tiger Men’s team finished in 5th place with a total of 46 points. Davita Prendergast still holds the record for the Women’s 400 Meter Dash, which she set in 2006 with a time of 51.29.
The LU Tigers took first place in the following events:
LU junior, Nandelle Cameron came in first in the Women’s 200 Meter Dash with a time of 23.60, with Monique Robinson (Jr) following in 6 th place, with a time of 23.97.
Natoya Thompson (Jr) finished in first place in the Women’s High Jump, with a height of 1.76m.
In 2007 the LU women ( Monique Robinson, Davita Prendergast, Meleshia Spencer, Carla Thomas) set the record for the meet in the Women 4x400 Meter Relay, with a time of 3:32.31, the Blue Tiger Women: Monique Robinson (Jr), Patricia Tinglin, (Jr), Meisha Thompson (Sr) and Carla Thomas (Sr) didn’t break that record this year, but did hold onto the first place title in the Women’s 4x400 Meter Relay, with a time of3:39.70.
LU Senior Wilbert Walker, finished in first place in the Men’s Triple Jump with a distance of 16.30m.
Second Place events:
Carla Thomas, a senior at Lincoln, finished 2 nd in the Women’s 400 meter hurdles with a time of 59.42.
Okine Codlyn (Jr) finished in second place in the Women’s 200 Meter Dash Heptathlon with a time of 25.36.
In the Men’s 100 Meter Dash, Kawayne Fisher (So) finished in second place with a time of 10.26 followed by Kimour Bruce (Fr), in fifth place with a time of 10.36.
Indoor Track

Lincoln University Blue Tiger Long Jumper Wilbert Walker has won the NCAA Division II Indoor Championship in the Long Jump (7.69m). Walker has also won the NCAA Division II Indoor Championship in the Triple Jump (16.39m). Several other Blue Tigers competed well enough to net Lincoln 3rd place for the Women's team, and 6th place for the Men's team.

The 2008-09 Blue Tiger Men's Track and Field Team
Friday, December 5, 2008: Track. The Lincoln University Blue Tigers had a good showing at SIU Carbondale. First place finishers include Semoy Hackett (W 60m Dash), Kimour Bruce (M 60m Dash), Carla Thomas (W 400 m Dash), Nandelle Cameron (W 200 m Dash) and the 4X400 m relay.
